Mexican Cacao: Contemporary Trends and the Building of a Family Business

An Empowering Chocopreneurs Webinar

While scientists debate the geographical origin of cacao ‘domestication’ there is no doubt that the cacao cultivated in Mexico represents thousands of years of history and cultural significance.

Join Sienna Trapp Bowie as she shares her decade long journey building a bean to bar company with her family and sourcing cacao directly from Mexican producers.

She will lead us through the experiences she has had so far in the Mexican cacao sector both from a makers point of view as well as from her academic view as an anthropologist.

She will share her experience working as both a sales and marketing leader with Uncommon Cacao as part of a quest to deepen her knowledge of global trade with a transparency lens and will debut a brand new project she has launched from the southern Mexican highlands with the aim of supporting fellow bean to bar makers internationally.
