Art and Sensory Experience of Chocolate Tasting 

Sanna Forslund, known as CacaoSana, is an international chocolate educator based in Sweden. She shares her passion for the world of chocolate and cacao through her art, tastings and sensory workshops, where she combines awareness of the senses, guided meditations and breathing techniques with chocolate. She wants to show the beauty of being in the present moment when tasting a piece of chocolate. She hosts events both in person and online.

Sanna fell in love with chocolate as a child, became a self-thought chocolatier in her early 20's, made her first bean to bar chocolate in 2014 and has never stopped learning about cacao. Nowadays, she only makes chocolate treats for her family and instead focuses on inspiring through events, art and as a speaker. She has a degree in Education and taught high school English and Spanish for seven years. She is also a certified breath guide, working with breathing techniques and their effects on our nervous system. Combining her skills she developed the Sensory Experience with Chocolate workshop that she has shared at chocolate festivals over the past year. 

"Where Cacao Grows" is her most recent art show, at the Himmelsberga Museum on Öland. In watercolor Sanna captures cacao pods and nature inspired by her time living in Hawaii and Mexico to spark conversations with the visitors. Since a lot of people don't know the story from tree to chocolate, the images of cacao pods make people curious. Sanna never gets tired of answering questions about cacao and chocolate. One of her favorite memories from the art show was when an 80 year old woman learned that chocolate is made from these colorful fruits.
