CocoaTown Limited Warranty Policy

We take pride in the Quality merchandise, Customer service, and Prompt delivery of our products. Our products are manufactured with the best quality materials and undergo a complete Quality Assurance (QA) procedure before being shipped to the customer.

I. General Warranty Coverage

  • Duration: All units carry a minimum of a one-year limited warranty against manufacturing defects, effective from the date of shipping.
  • Eligibility: The warranty is non-transferable and covers only the units purchased from CocoaTown LLC (or CocoaTown.com).
  • Remedy: For products covered by CocoaTown warranty, we reserve the option to repair or replace the parts/product with a similar or equivalent component/unit, at the discretion of the CocoaTown Service Technician.
  • Post-Warranty Service: If the product needs service after the warranty period, it will be repaired for a reasonable charge.
  • Third-Party Warranties: If a product is warranted directly by the manufacturer, CocoaTown will assist the customer if there is any difficulty in obtaining service from that manufacturer.

II. Warranty Service Procedure

  • Requesting Service: If service is needed during the warranty period, please contact CocoaTown promptly by email or phone.
  • Return Authorization (RA#): CocoaTown will issue a Return Authorization number (RA#) and instructions. Units sent for service without an RA# will not be accepted.
  • Small Scale Equipment Repair: Small scale equipment can be repaired or replaced (depending on the defect) at the discretion of a CocoaTown technician, provided the customer ships the unit to CocoaTown at their cost. CocoaTown pays for parts, labor, and return shipping cost only for warranty coverage.
  • Parts for Commercial/International Equipment: If warranty service is needed, CocoaTown supplies the parts for commercial equipment and/or for equipment sold outside continental USA. The user pays for the S&H charges to get the parts to their location and installs these parts at their cost, following the instructions provided by CocoaTown.

III. Warranty Terms & Limitations (Exclusions)

The warranty does not cover the following:

  • Shipping Damages: These are not considered a manufacturing defect.
  • Units purchased as used equipment or from sources other than CocoaTown or their authorized dealer.
  • Damages caused by improper installation or installation by an unqualified person (Units should be installed by State certified professionals).
  • Normal wear and tear, intentional damage, usage for other than the intended purpose, improper use, or being involved in an accident.
  • Failure of components resulting from not adhering to the maintenance schedule or CocoaTown recommended protocols.
  • Customers pay for S&H charges to get the repaired/replacement parts/unit to them

IV. Liability

  • The maximum liability for CocoaTown is limited to the price of the unit stated in the original invoice. S&H charges are not refundable.
  • Under no circumstances is CocoaTown responsible for any loss or damage, whether direct or consequential, resulting from the use of the product.
  • This warranty is expressly in lieu of all other warranties, expressed or implied (statutory or otherwise), and all other obligations on CocoaTown’s part.

V. Warranty Addendum for Shipments Outside Continental USA

  • Testing and Insurance: The Melangers and Grinders™ and other equipment sold by CocoaTown are thoroughly tested against their specifications. Units are insured against any shipping damage if the shipping arrangement is made by CocoaTown™. Shipping damage is covered by the shipping courier, and the customer must follow the courier’s instructions for claiming damages.
  • Service Limitation: It is not practical to provide warranty repair service from the USA for units shipped outside the continental USA.
  • CocoaTown covers only the price of the parts/equipment shipped under warranty.
  • Customer pays for S&H charges for the repaired/replacement parts/equipment.
  • Defect On Arrival (DOA): If the unit arrives with no shipping damage but has a Defect On Arrival (DOA), we will provide troubleshooting procedures to identify the problem and will ship the replacement part.
  • Reporting DOA: The units are insured against shipping damage if the shipping arrangement was made by CocoaTown. Shipping damage must be reported to the shipping courier and CocoaTown within five (5) days from the date of delivery.

·         Local Repair Responsibility (DOA): Customers are responsible for getting the defective parts replaced locally by a qualified/certified repair person, at their cost.

  • Post-Warranty Parts: For those units that need service after the warranty period, CocoaTown will supply the parts at a reasonable cost. CocoaTown™ normally has the parts available for a minimum of 5 years from the date of sale.
