Meet Sienna Trapp Bowie
Mexican Cacao: Contemporary Trends and the Building of a Family Business
Meet Sienna Trapp Bowie
An academic background in anthropology and fine art with a focus on Mexico and the movement of culture across borders, Sienna has lived between the US and Mexico for the past 15 years. During which time she came to understand the central role that cacao plays in so many of the global issues she cares about; ethical trade, sensorial pleasure, ecology, cultural history, mysticism…
Founded upon her return from a life in Tokyo with her family, Fortuna Chocolate has operated out of a 26’ truck in Boulder, Colorado crafting bean to bar chocolate exclusively with Mexican grown cacao for the past decade.
Recently, Sienna has focused her professional life on working with small makers across North America, supporting them as they source transparently traded cacao and derivatives with Uncommon Cacao.
Join Sienna Trapp Bowie as she shares her decade long journey building a bean to bar company with her family and sourcing cacao directly from Mexican producers.
